Authorities in Middlesex County announced that several individuals have been charged in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in Plainsboro.
Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone stated that on January 1, 2024, at approximately 1:56 a.m., emergency services from Plainsboro Township, West Windsor, and other surrounding communities were dispatched to Route 1 in Plainsboro Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash.

Upon their arrival, police encountered an incident involving six cars and multiple motor vehicle crashes. Louisa Bradlow Carman (pictured), 25, of Princeton, was in critical condition and was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced deceased, MCPO officials say.
According to Middlesex County officials, an investigation led by Corporal Justin Kowalczyk of the Plainsboro Police Department and Detective James Alleva of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Crash Investigation Unit determined that a Nissan Altima operated by Cianni Hall, 24, of Delran, NJ struck a Ford Fusion which was operated by Carman and occupied by a 27-year-old male, leaving the Ford Fusion disabled in a lane of travel.
Approximately 6 minutes later, the Ford Fusion was struck by a Chevrolet Impala, operated by Adriana Vega, 27, of Trenton, MCPO authorities stated.
Middlesex County officials said that a third crash involved a Chevrolet Malibu, operated by Kartika Shorter, 44, of Trenton, and a Volkswagen Tiguan operated by a 48-year-old male, and occupied by a 43-year-old female and two juveniles.
A good Samaritan vehicle, which was stopped to assist with the first crash, was additionally struck. During the investigation, it was determined that Shorter and Hall were operating under the influence, and they were charged with DUI at the time of the crash, Middlesex County authorities said.
According to MCPO officials, Vega was found to have fled the scene and was then arrested and charged with first-degree Aggravated Manslaughter, second-degree Vehicular Homicide, and second-degree Leaving the Scene of an Accident involving Death.
Shorter was charged with four counts of fourth-degree Assault by Auto, two counts of third-degree endangering the Welfare of a child, and one count of third-degree Endangering Another Person, MCPO authorities say.
Middlesex County officials said Glover was charged with fourth-degree hindering, third-degree Attempted Escape, and fourth-degree Obstruction.
Hall was charged with third-degree Endangering Another Person, MCPO officials say. Zyira Dixon, 25, of Trenton, was charged with third-degree Attempted Escape and fourth-degree Obstruction.
