Authorities in Burlington County are investigating a fire that killed a senior woman on Thursday evening in Medford.
Officials said that at 5:45 p.m., the Medford Township Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to the 100 block of Taunton Boulevard for a reported house on fire.
Officials say reports received stated that the front of the residence was on fire and possibly people were trapped inside.
Emergency responders arrived on location within minutes of the calls and found fire coming out of the first and second-floor windows.
According to officials, a 74-year-old female was located deceased on the residence's second floor.
The fire is being investigated by the Medford Township Police and Fire Departments and the Burlington County Fire Marshalls Office.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Mutual aid departments from Evesham Fire-Rescue, Medford Lakes, Berlin Township and Cherry Hill assisted in extinguishing the fire.
