UPDATE: Search Underway for New Jersey Murder Suspect

A 45-year-old man charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Mark Wright on Oct. 10, is currently wanted by authorities, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.

Atlantic County officials said at 4:04 a.m., Sunday, October 10, Atlantic City Police received a 911 call to respond to 28 S. Georgia Avenue.

When police arrived, Mark Wright, 35, was located and he was found to have been the victim of a shooting.

Wright was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives from the ACPO Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene.

Umar Abdullah, a.k.a. James Collins/James Coger III – nicknamed “Munchie” or “O” is currently wanted by authorities and has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and second degree Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon.

Abdullah's height is 5’5” tall, he weighs approx. 190-210 pounds and recently had very long, waist-length dreadlocks, but it is unknown if this is still the case.

Umar Abdullah is known to frequent Atlantic City and Pleasantville. 

He is presumed dangerous by authorities and the public should contact local police if he is seen.

This joint investigation continues between ACPO Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department.
