UPDATE: Search Continues for Man who Fell into The Passaic River in Newark

Newark Police requests the public’s assistance in locating Mr. Martin Ramos, 39, of Newark, who jumped into the Passaic River on Saturday, October 21st, 2017.

According to police, at approximately 1:56 p.m., a man jumped into the Passaic River in the area of 800 Raymond Boulevard.

Police said Martin Ramos, a friend of the first victim, attempted to pull his friend out, but he fell into the river and was dragged downstream by its current.

Mr. Ramos has yet to be seen after he went under the water.

EMS transported a 36-year old Newark resident, to University Hospital for evaluation.

The search continues for Mr. Ramos, who police described as white or Hispanic and wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and brown work boots. We welcome the public's assistance during our search.
