UPDATE: Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Newark Carjacking Suspects

Police are seeking the public’s assistance identifying the suspects of a carjacking that occurred on May 17th.

According to authorities, shortly after 10 p.m., an off-duty police detective was involved in a shooting when he stopped an attempted carjacking near Clay and Broad streets.

Police say the suspects managed to elude capture.

Officials said detectives with the Newark Police Major Crimes Section developed information identifying the pictured individuals as suspects after they were observed fleeing the scene of the incident.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying and removing them from the streets.
