UPDATE: Police Locate 72-Year-Old Newark Alzheimer's Patient who Went Missing Overnight

A search for a missing Newark senior woman who police say has Alzheimer’s is being reported as successful by Newark Police after authorities located the woman overnight.

According to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose, his officers sought the public’s assistance in locating Ms. Alejandinadu Peralpa, 72, of Newark, who went missing on Wednesday.

Police say Peralpa, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, was last seen at 9:00 a.m. at her Garside Street address but was relocated with her family after sometime after midnight.

Authorities say Peralpa was not injured as they thanked the public for their assistance in locating her.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information on any criminal activity in the city to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
