Newark -- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from Newark, is investigating the fatal shooting of Mr. Wendell D. Lee, 40, of Newark.
Police say Monday at approximately 6:00 p.m. Lee was shot in the 100 block of Boyd Street in Newark.
EMS transported Lee to University Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead at 6:37 p.m.
According to authorities, at this time, no arrests have been made.
