UPDATE: Police Close Streets to Disperse Gathering Vehicles After Newark Puerto Rican Day Parade

Newark

Newark Police officials said at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, officers responded to the area of Broadway, between Montclair Avenue and Sylvan Avenue, after a large group of vehicles congregated following the Puerto Rican Day Festival, attended by several non-Newark residents.

Police say they observed cars and motorcycles interspersed with ATVs and dirt bikes.

Due to several double-parked cars in the area and pedestrians exiting the festival, police temporarily closed cross streets to facilitate disperse, Newark Police said.

No arrests have been reported in connection with the vehicle gathering.
