UPDATE: Police Charged Man With Deadly Irvington Township Shooting

Essex County officials today reported that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force has charged Mr. Jonathan Quallis, 32, with aggravated murder relating to the fatal shooting of Mr. Ibn Vincent, 37, of Irvington. 

Homicide

Police said on January 18, at 7:36 p.m., Irvington police were notified of an alleged shooting at the 400 block of Union Avenue, Irvington.

Police arrived and found Vincent suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:53 p.m.

Quallis was later arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter and possessing a weapon for unlawful purposes.

Homicide

He is being held in the Essex County Correctional Facility. 

These are accusations.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
