UPDATE: Police Arrest Man for Domestic Assault in Newark; Woman Remains Missing

Police in Newark are continuing to investigate the whereabouts of missing Newark woman, Ms. Julia Vega, 30, who was reported missing on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018.

Authorities seek the public’s assistance in locating Ms. Vega. who is described as 4’10” tall and weight approximately 170 lbs.

Police say Vega was last seen in the 200-block of South 7th Street around noon

According to police, on Friday, May 11th, NPD’s Special Victims Detectives and the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Gualberto Lebron, 32, of Newark, who was wanted for a domestic-violence related aggravated assault.

Police say they are working to determine whether Vega was in the company of Lebron when she went missing.

Police say while Lebron is under arrest, they are actively searching for Vega and requesting the public’s assistance in quickly locating her and returning her to her family.
