UPDATE: Police Apprehend Man, Woman for Possessing Gun in Newark

Newark Police are reporting the arrest of Mr. Rahdee Boyd, 33, and Ms. Nataja Peppers, 31, both of Newark, for possession of a loaded firearm today (Sunday).

According to police, at approximately 2:30 a.m., police responded to Bragaw Avenue and Willouhby Street on a call of a suspicious person with a gun inside a vehicle.

Officers observed a suspect fitting the description inside the vehicle, with Mr. Rahdee Boyd as a passenger and Ms. Nataja Peppers as a driver.

Police further observed a loaded 9MM handgun inside the vehicle.

Police said Boyd ran when asked to step out of the car and was immediately apprehended.

Police seized the gun and took Boyd and Peppers into custody.

Police charged Boyd with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose,!and Resisting Arrest.

Peppers is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon police said.

These charges are merely accusations lodged against Boyd and Peppers.

The suspects is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
