UPDATE: Plainfield Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Route 440 in Edison

State Police are currently investigating a motorcycle crash that killed one in Edison this morning.

According to police officials, Troopers responded to a crash at 5:28 a.m. on Route 440 north near mile marker 0.01. 

Based on a preliminary investigation, a Honda motorcycle and a Western Star tractor-trailer were traveling south on Interstate 287 to State Highway 440 north and collided.

As a result of the collision, NJ State Police officials said the driver of the Honda was ejected and struck by the tractor-trailer causing fatal injuries to the driver of the motorcycle, Mr. Terrance R. Edwin, 61, of Plainfield. 

According to the investigation, the driver of the tractor-trailer, Mr. Dennis R. Brown, 74, of Acme, PA, suffered no injuries. 

Police say the  crash remains under investigation and there are is no additional information available at the moment.
