Authorities in Hudson County announced that a pedestrian has died as a result of injuries he sustained from a motor vehicle collision that occurred in Jersey City on Sunday, December 14.
Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello stated that at approximately 9:15 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Mallory Avenue and Communipaw Avenue.
Responding officers located a male victim – later identified as Luis Caisaguano, 61, of Jersey City – with life-threatening injuries, HCPO officials said. 
According to Hudson County officials, he was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, where he was pronounced dead on Wednesday, December 17.
This matter remains under investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
