UPDATE: Paterson Men Killed in Little Falls Crash

Authorities in Passaic County reported that at approximately 10:40 p.m., on Friday, August 19, officers responded to the intersection of Woodhull Road and Route 23 in the Township of Little Falls in response to a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival at the scene, police said they found a Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by Mr. Jason Zaitoun, 18, of Wayne, struck a Mercedes C300 occupied by five (5) people.

Police say two passengers in the Mercedes succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead due to the crash. 

According to police, Mr. Shahriyar Ahmed, 19, of Paterson, was pronounced dead at the scene, and Mr. Shakeel Ali, 19, also of Paterson, was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The passengers in the Mercedes, the driver, and Mr. Zaitoun were all transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson to treat various injuries.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
