An investigation is underway after gunfire erupted on the streets of Passaic early Saturday morning, authorities said.
According to a statement released by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman, officers from the Passaic Police Department were dispatched at approximately 3:26 a.m. on October 11, 2025, following reports of shots fired in the area of Parker Avenue and Highland Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located evidence consistent with a shooting and secured the area as a potential crime scene.
Officials did not immediately release information about possible victims or suspects.
Prosecutor Valdes confirmed that the investigation is active and ongoing, with detectives working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
