UPDATE: One Dead, Another Injured in Paterson Shooting

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that on Tuesday, at approximately 8:06 p.m., police officers responded to the area outside 675 East 25th Street in the City of Paterson in response to a report of shots fired.

Police sad Mr. Jessy Camilo, 26 years old from Paterson, and Mr. Tamir Blackwood, 27, from Paterson, both suffered apparent gunshot wounds.

Police say both victims were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center where Mr. Blackwood succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased. Mr. Camilo is in stable condition.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
