A welfare check at a senior housing complex in Old Bridge ended in tragedy on Tuesday when police discovered the bodies of two residents inside their apartment.
According to a statement released by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Old Bridge Police were dispatched around 11:42 a.m. after the building manager of the Old Bridge Rotary Senior Housing on Ticetown Road requested a welfare check.
When officers entered the unit, they found 63-year-old Jamie Nowakowska and 54-year-old Nancy Misura dead from apparent stab wounds. Investigators believe Nowakowska fatally stabbed Misura before taking his own life.

The man and woman lived in the apartment together, though prosecutors have not confirmed the nature of their relationship.
The case is being investigated as a suspected murder-suicide.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area to contact Detective Jessica Nierodzik of the Old Bridge Police Department at 732-721-5600.
