Officials have identified a woman fatally struck by a NJ Transit Light Rail Train on Saturday night.
According to authorities, the incident happened just north of 22nd Street, at approximately 9:45 p.m. when Ms. Alexis Perez, 21, of Bayonne reportedly entered the tracks shortly before the train struck her.
Emergency responders and medical staff arrived at the scene to find Perez suffering severe injuries then pronounced her dead at the scene authorities said.
Officials did not released what caused Perez to enter the track.
NJ Transit Officials temporarily suspended service on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail between 34th and 8th St. for the investigation.
