Authorities are investigating after a police pursuit ended in a violent crash in Jersey City Wednesday afternoon, leaving officers injured and a vehicle heavily damaged.

The incident unfolded Wednesday, September 30, after a vehicle being pursued by law enforcement entered Jersey City and ultimately crashed near a flower shop.

Video and images from the scene showed a heavily damaged vehicle surrounded by a large emergency response as officers secured the area. The vehicle was later removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.

ABC7 Eyewitness News reported Wednesday evening that officers were injured in the New Jersey crash and that the driver had smashed into a flower shop.

There were also reports that the pursuit originated in New York City before continuing through the Holland Tunnel into Jersey City.

RLS Media has not independently confirmed what initially prompted the pursuit or reports connecting the vehicle to an earlier incident in New York City.

The circumstances surrounding the officers’ injuries and whether anyone else was injured were not immediately available.

The investigation remains active, and additional information is expected as authorities provide official details.
