UPDATE: NJ Man Indicted for 2023 Pleasantville Homicide

Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Tuesday, February 6, Jerome Holley, 41, of Absecon, was indicted for the murder of Mamadou Toure, 45, from Pleasantville, that occurred on October 9, 2023, in Pleasantville.AdOfficials stated that on October 9, 2023, at approximately 8:41 a.m., the Pleasantville Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call in reference to a shooting in the area of 7 West Pleasant Avenue.

Police responded and located Toure unresponsive in the driveway with at least one gunshot wound, officials say. 

Authorities say Toure was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to officials, an Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Holley for first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, second-degree possession of a handgun without a permit to carry, and second-degree certain persons not to possess firearms.

Holley is currently being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he will remain detained pending trial, officials said.

This incident is still being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department.
