New Jersey State Police officials are looking into the cause of a crash that killed an Essex County woman in Clifton Saturday morning.
Officials said State Troopers responded to a one-vehicle crash on GSP northbound at milepost 153.7 at approximately 1:40 a.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling northbound on GSP when in the area of 153.7, the Santa Fe traveled off the left side of the roadway, entered the grass median and impacted a tree.
State Police officials said the Hyundai subsequently became engulfed in fire.
As a result of this crash, the driver, Ms. Tiesha A. Jackson, 26, Newark of, sustained fatal injuries.
No other vehicles were involved.
