The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that a male found suffering gunshot wounds in a Newark neighborhood has transitioned and their detectives are now attempting to locate the killer and uncover the motive for the shooting.
The incident happened just before 3 p.m. in the 70's block of South 7th Street near 11th Avenue where gunfire rang out in the area sending police to the scene where they found the severely injured male in his mid age of 20's at that location.
EMS rushed the victim the short distance to University Hospital where several people in the emergency room observe Emergency Medical Technicians perform CPR on the unconscious and unresponsive male.

County authorities said the unidentified male died a short time later.
The investigation into the shooting is in its early stages according to Essex County law enforcement officials.
