UPDATE: Newark Shooting Claims Life of Howell Township Man

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, alongside Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, disclosed that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is currently investigating the death of 29-year-old Mr. Tyquane Steed from Howell Township, N.J., following a fatal shooting incident in Newark.AdThe deadly shooting happened on the evening of February 13, when Newark police were called to the scene of a shooting reported on the 900 block of South 16th Street.

Upon arrival, Spokesperson Robert Florida said officers discovered Steed inside a residence, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to his head. 

Despite the immediate response, Steed was pronounced dead at the scene by 9:13 p.m.

As the investigation continues, authorities have yet to make any arrests related to the shooting.Ad The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is actively seeking information from the public to aid in their investigation.
