According to a statement released by Director Ambrose, shortly before 6:50 a.m., police responded to the 300 block of South 18th Street on a call of a carjacking.

Police say a suspect entered a black 2014 Chevrolet Suburban when the victim exited the vehicle.

The driver fled, striking two unoccupied parked cars and two occupied cars police said.

The vehicle came to a stop at 18th Avenue and Muhammad Ali Boulevard, where three occupants were arrested, and police recovered a loaded handgun.

According to police, Green, the driver, faces charges of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle), unlawful possession of a weapon (vehicle), eluding and resisting arrest.
