Authorities announced the arrest of Mr. Erwin Rucal, 39, of Newark, wanted in comm with an attempted murder incident that occurred on March 13th.
Arriving officers determined a woman at the location had been assaulted by a man she knows.
Police say the victim suffered a knife wound and was transported to University Hospital in critical condition.
Detectives investigating this incident identified Erwin Rucal as a suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest on charges of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
Officials say Rucal fled to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he was apprehended Friday.
These charges are merely accusations.
This suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
