Passaic County authorities said at approximately 6:57 p.m. on Saturday, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Totowa Redwood avenues in Paterson in response to a report of a shooting.
Authorities said that upon their arrival, officers located Mr. Jose Figueroa, 21, Newark, lying in the street with apparent gunshot wounds.
According to police, Mr. Figueroa was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
