UPDATE: Newark Man Killed in Garden State Parkway Motorcycle Crash in Hillside

NJ State Police officials are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a man on the Garden State Parkway Sunday morning.

According to a statement released by State Police, at 3:46 a.m., Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound lanes near milepost 142.8 in Hillside.

Officials said a preliminary investigation indicated that a 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling south on the highway.

The driver exited the parkway at exit 142A and slammed into the guardrail on the shoulder.

According to NJ State Police, the impact of the collision ejected Mr. Robert Marshall, 35, of Newark from the bike.

Medical personnel pronounced the severely injured Marshall dead at the scene.

Mr. Marshall just celebrated his 35th birthday on Thursday.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash according to NJ State Police officials.
