UPDATE: Newark Man Charged with Murdering Florida Man

Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced today that **Raheem Henry, 38, of Newark** has been arrested and charged with the murder of Anthony Polite, 28, of Sunrise Florida.

Authorities said Polite was fatally shot on Dec. 30, 2016, in the 300 block of South 11th Street in Newark.

According to authorities, yesterday, Henry was charged with one count of murder, two counts of robbery, felony murder, kidnapping, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose.

Henry was arrested by Newark Police and the FBI Fugitive Task Force.

He is currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.

These charges lodged against Henry are mere accusations.

He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
