UPDATE: Newark Man Arrested for Irvington Murder

Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino announced today that Mr. Ali King, 37, of Newark has been arrested for the murder of Dino Bermudez, who was killed in Irvington in May of this year.

Police said on May 12, Bermudez, 33, of Irvington was shot in the leg around noon in the 300 block of Myrtle Avenue.

Bermudez died from his injuries at approximately 5:30 a.m. Sunday May 15 at University Hospital in Newark.

Today, at approximately 7:00 am detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the FBI Task Force arrested King without incident.

Authorities charged King with murder, felony murder, conspiracy, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful.

These are accusations.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The investigation into this case remains active and ongoing.
