UPDATE: National Weather Service Confirms Tornado in NJ on Halloween Night

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in New Jersey Thursday night.

According to officials, the EF-1 tornado touched down just before midnight in the Morris County town of Madison with winds up to 100mph.

Widespread damage which included downed trees and power lines forced city officials to cancel schools and declare a State of Emergency.

There were no injuries reported.
