The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation into a crash that claimed the life of one person in Newark’s South Ward Monday morning.
According to preliminary information released by the prosecutor’s office, emergency responders were dispatched around 8:00 a.m. to the intersection of Frelinghuysen Avenue and Foster Street after reports of a collision.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered three vehicles involved in the crash.
One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, officials confirmed.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under active investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
