The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is leading the investigation into a crash that killed a motorcyclist in East Orange Friday evening.
The collision occurred before 6 p.m. in the 90's block of Greenwood.
Police arrived at the scene and found a fire truck collided with the motorcycle, causing the rider to eject with severe injuries.
Rescue crews provided CPR to the unidentified male but were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
It is not clear if the firefighter operating the rig was responding to an emergency call or fire in the area at this time.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
