UPDATE: Newark Woman Killed After Motorcycle Crashes on McCarter Highway

Newark

There is a fundraiser Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Playhouse in Newark for a woman killed during a motorcycle crash on Route 21 Sunday.

According to preliminary reports, emergency responders were called to the vicinity of Route 21 northbound near Grafton Avenue after receiving reports of a crash with injuries just before 2 a.m.

Reports said when emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found a female motorcyclist identified as Nytaijah Cook ‘Tay Sade’ lying on the ground bleeding heavily after being ejected from the motorcycle for an 'unknown reason.'

Authorities say the Sade suffered critical injuries and was transported to University Hospital where she was eventually pronounced dead at 4 a.m.

Sade reportedly ejected from the motorcycle about an hour before someone noticed her and Newark Emergency Responders locating her severely injured body.

The clubhouse is located at 14th Avenue and South 9th Street and all are encouraged to support the family in their time of need.

The incident remains under investigation.
