UPDATE: Motorcycle Passenger Dies After Hawthorne Crash

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Hawthorne Police Chief Richard McAuliffe announce that at approximately 9:44 p.m. on June 30th Hawthorne Police responded to Lafayette Avenue in response to a collision involving a 2017 Jeep Wrangler and a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, near the Wells Fargo.

According to authorities, the driver of the Jeep Wrangler was not injured. The rider of the Harley Davidson, later identified as 49-year-old Ramsey resident, Kasey Checke, was pronounced deceased at approximately 10:13 p.m. on June 30th; his female passenger, identified as 57-year-old Hawthorne resident, Kimberly Stoll, was transported to Saint Joseph’s Hospital in critical condition. Officials say Stoll was pronounced dead early this morning at approximately 1:18 a.m.

The investigation, being conducted by the Hawthorne Police Department, in conjunction with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department, remains active and ongoing.
