Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and West Orange Police Chief James P. Abbott announced today that West Orange Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating two suspicious deaths.
Officials say the preliminary investigation indicates that both Ms. Sushmiba Bardhan, 36, of West Orange and her six-year-old daughter sustained fatal gunshot injuries on May 31, in their Suzan Court apartment.
According officials, the two, mother and daughter, were discovered by a family member.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
The preliminary investigation indicates there is no danger to the community.
Official said no other information is available currently.
