UPDATE: Montclair Man Fatally Struck by Two Cars

Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Montclair Police Chief Todd Conforti announced today that the Montclair Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a fatal pedestrian incident.

Officials say at approximately 6:30 a.m. today a male was struck and killed while crossing Bloomfield Avenue near Lloyd Road in Montclair.

Authorities identified the victim as Samson Hum, 52, of Montclair who was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:01 a.m.

Officials say Him was hit by two cars -- a Ford Focus and a Jeep Wrangler. Both drivers remained at the scene and at this time no one has been charged.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
