UPDATE: Minor Injuries for Two Harrison Car Crash Victims

Harrison Police are investigating the official cause of a crash that occurred on a street in the town on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a statement released by the Harrison Police Department, the incident happens at around 1:08 p.m. where officers responded to reports of a crash with injuries at the intersection of Cross and North 5th streets.

Police officials say when officers arrived, they found two vehicles involved in a collision occurred at the intersection controlled by a traffic signal.

According to officials, one of the vehicles veered off the road and entered the sidewalk where it struck a fire hydrant.

Police say both involved drivers had minor injuries and were evaluated by Emergency Medical Services.

A 19-year-old Harrison resident and driver of one of the cars was transported to University Hospital in Newark for further evaluation.

There were no other injuries reported and no pedestrians struck during the collision police said.
