Essex County officials announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating a fatal shooting.
Officials said on Thursday, Aug. 20, just after midnight Mr. Milan Madison, 28, of Hyattsville, Maryland was shot in the area of 69 Highland Avenue in Newark.
Officials say he was pronounced at the scene at 11:42 p.m.
No arrests have been made.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
