An apparent double homicide is under investigation in the Pittstown section of Franklin Township, according to a statement released by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities said Franklin Township police responded to a 9-1-1 call around 12:22 p.m. on August 2, 2025, reporting an unconscious female with signs of trauma at a residence on Upper Kingtown Road.
When officers arrived, they discovered two deceased individuals who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds in what investigators believe was a targeted act of violence.
The victims were identified as 33-year-old Lauren Semanchik of a Pittstown and 29-year-old Tyler Webb of Forked River.
Prosecutor Renée Robeson emphasized that the investigation is active but noted there is no indication of any threat to the public.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including police departments from Franklin Township, Clinton Township, and the Town of Clinton, as well as the Morris County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit and local emergency services.
