UPDATE: Man Stabs Woman in the Neck After Raping Her in Jersey City

Jersey City

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on Monday, shortly after 1:00 a.m., a Jersey City Police Department patrol unit was alerted to an injured female in the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Stevens Avenue in Jersey City.

Prosecutor's Suarez said the woman, a 25-year-old from Bayonne, sustained a laceration on her neck and hand.

She was treated at the scene by the responding officers and Emergency Medical Services before being transported to Jersey City Medical Center.

The initial investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Jersey City Police Department revealed that the woman and the alleged male suspect had agreed to have consensual sex at an unknown location in Jersey City.

Prosecutor Suarez said this allegedly led to an argument, an alleged sexual assault and an assault with a knife.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.

No arrests have been made at this time Prosecutor Suarez said.
