UPDATE: Man Stabbed in Melee at Soccer Game in Harrison

Hudson County authorities are investigating a stabbing that reportedly occurred during a soccer league game in Harrison.

According to a statement released by Harrison Police officials, officers were called to Supor Boulevard at approximately 12:45 a.m. after they received reports of an injured person inside a converted warehouse, where indoor soccer league games are hosted.

Officials say, officers learned that an altercation began between two players on separate teams then escalated to a melee involving multiple people.

According to Harrison Police, the victim allegedly attempted to leave the warehouse and the offender confronted him and slashed him in the right arm with a box cutter.

According to authorities, the victim sustained five to six laceration and was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.

The investigation into the stabbing remains ongoing.

There were no immediate reports of arrests made.

Harrison Police said once officers arrived, the offender fled the scene.
