The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that a man who was struck by a tractor trailer in Newark's East Ward on Tuesday evening has died from his injuries.
According to authorities, the incident happened at approximately 6 p.m. on Avenue L when the male pedestrian was struck by the truck then left lying on the ground severely injured according to authorities.
Medical personnel pronounced the unidentified man dead a short time after he was struck by the truck according to authorities.
Essex County authorities are looking into the incident and have not officially announced an arrest or identified the vehicle that struck the victim.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
