Police in East Orange are investigating another violent shooting that occurred midday Sunday, November 9th, in the area of Main Street and William Street. According to preliminary information, officers responded to a report of shots fired and discovered a male victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he remains in critical condition.
This incident follows just one day after another deadly shooting in East Orange.
In that deadly shooting incident, Essex County Prosecutor’s Office officials said, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on November 7, 2025, near 393 Central Avenue. County officials said the Essex County Sheriff’s Office notified prosecutors shortly after 7 p.m.
The victim, identified as 29-year-old Mr. Terry M. Grovesnor of Irvington, was struck multiple times by gunfire.
He was pronounced dead by doctors at University Hospital.
On October 28, a 36-year-old city resident, Hamza Abdul‑Haqq, was found with gunshot injuries to the chest and back near North Clinton Street and was later pronounced dead.
At this time, no suspects have been arrested in any of the cases, the motives remain under investigation, and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed it is not yet being treated as a homicide investigation.
