UPDATE: Landscaper Wanted for Bergenfield Murder

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced that Jose D. Perez Vasquez, 50, of Bergenfield, has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Bergenfield Police Department under the direction of Chief Cathy Madalone.

Officials say on Monday, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information from the Bergenfield Police Department that a male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound to the torso had been found in the area of Portland Avenue.

Officials say the victim, later identified as 43-year-old Uvaldo de Gabriel Aguilar of Bergenfield, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center where doctors pronounced him dead at 3:05 AM.

As a result of the investigation, Mr. Jose D. Perez Vasquez was charged with one count of Murder, and one count of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

Police issued a warrant for his arrest, however, his whereabouts are unknown at this time police said.
