UPDATE: Juvenile Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Man to Death in Jersey City

According to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, last night at approximately 7 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of a male stabbed at 197 Palisade Avenue in Jersey City.

Upon arrival shortly after 7:05 p.m., the responding officers found Emergency Medical Services giving aid to an apparent stabbing victim.

Authorities said the victim, later identified as Jose Malave, 30, of Jersey City, was found in a lifeless state in the doorway of the apartment where he lived.

Medics pronounced Malabo dead at the scene at approximately 7:25 p.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending an investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

However, authorities announced that a 17-year-old male juvenile from Jersey City, has been charged with Murder, Felony Murder, Armed Burglary, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Conspiracy in connection with Malave’s death.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department for the arrest.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
