Authorities in Hudson County announced that on Wednesday, July 30, a Hudson County jury returned a guilty verdict against a Jersey City Police Officer in connection with multiple acts of official misconduct that occurred in Jersey City between September 2022 and February 2023.

Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello stated that Page Rivera, 35, was convicted of Official Misconduct – Non-Performance of Duties, a crime of the second degree; Official Misconduct – Unauthorized Use of Official Function, a crime of the second degree; and Pattern of Official Misconduct, a crime of the third degree.
The Jury also found the defendant not guilty of a third-degree hindering charge in the indictment, HCPO officials say.
According to Hudson County, the two Official Misconduct convictions each have mandatory minimum sentences under state law of five years, and the Pattern of Official Misconduct conviction has a two-year mandatory minimum sentence.
The State alleged that between September 28, 2022, and February 17, 2023, while in Jersey City, Rivera committed multiple acts of official misconduct relating to her position as a sworn Jersey City Police Officer, Hudson County officials said.
Hudson County authorities said the acts of official misconduct included Rivera’s non-performance of duties as well as the commission of unauthorized acts, such as hindering the detention, apprehension, investigation, and prosecution of a fugitive, Frederick Womack, by harboring or concealing Womack in connection with a shooting investigation.

Womack was eventually arrested after he was found in Rivera’s apartment, and he is currently serving a custodial sentence in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to Aggravated Assault related to the shooting case in which he was a fugitive, HCPO officials said.
