UPDATE: Jersey City Man, 21, Fatally Shot

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a 21-year-old Jersey City man who was fatally shot Wednesday evening in Ferris Triangle Park near Rose and Cator Avenues and Old Bergen Road in Jersey City.  

Hudson County officials said at approximately 8:22 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to a call of shots fired at Ferris Triangle Park.

Responding officers found a male gunshot victim – later identified as Alshaquir Duval – in front of 182 Cator Avenue.

According to Prosecutor Suarez, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene at 8:32 p.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

 The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department actively investigate this case.

No arrests have been made at this time, Prosecutor Suarez said.
