The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit are investgiating the circumstance behind the death of a woman found inside a residence in Kearny on Tuesday.
According to a brief statement released by Hudson County officials, police responded to a residence located at 89 Halstead Street in Kearny on reports of suspicious activities.
Authorities say when officers arrived, they found the unconscious and unresponsive body of a 39-year-old female at that location.
Officials say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene but would not immediately release what caused the woman's death.
The investigation is active, ongoing and in its early stages according to officials.
