UPDATE: Hillside Man Identified as Fatal Shooting Victim

A fatal shooting that took place in Hillside Saturday night is under investigation, acting Union County Prosecutor Thomas K. Isenhour announced Sunday.

Police identified the victim as 29-year-old Kevin Hall of Hillside.

Authorities said at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, members of the Union County Homicide Task Force responded to the 100 block of Summer Street in Hillside on a report of a shooting to find Hall suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene.

EMS transported to Hall to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in critical condition for unsuccessful emergency treatment.

Doctors pronounced him dead there at approximately 11:40 p.m.

This matter is now under joint investigation by the Homicide Task Force, Hillside Police Department, and Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.
