Police are searching for two suspects following an armed robbery at an Orange gas station Monday night, with authorities also investigating their possible connection to other business robberies around Essex County.
According to preliminary information, the robbery occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. at the Exxon gas station located at 493 Central Avenue.
Police said a red or burgundy Dodge Durango carrying two males pulled into the station.
The attendant told investigators that the driver exited the SUV, pointed a black handgun at him and demanded money.
The gunman reportedly removed an undetermined amount of cash from the register before returning to the Durango and fleeing west on Central Avenue toward West Orange. The vehicle was reportedly operating without license plates.
The suspects are also being sought in connection with several other armed business robberies reported around Essex County.
A red Dodge Durango had previously been reported in connection with robbery incidents in the area, although authorities have not confirmed that every incident involved the same suspects.
No injuries were immediately reported in the Orange robbery.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
